Hallo there, after the dealer guys updated theECM, my XB12Scg '08 is very lean, pops a lot when realising gas, and the fan is always on. And these are common issues for everybody in here I guess. Since I have got a Remus exaust and K&N filter I tryed to find a way to tune it better myself, without too much success. I got the cable and ECMSpy with database for my ECM but I could not find a good map on the net. I eventually found www.twinmotorcycles.nl and they offered me to set my ECM via internet for 360 euros. They look very professional and they promised a gain on power of 15%, with a set-up made ad hoc for my bike. But it's a lot of money and I was wondering if any of you knows a cheaper way to get rid of the problems without spending such money. Thanks. |

You could buy a copy of ECM spy and a cable for a fraction of that price and then do it yourself. TPS reset will cure a lot of that and takes moments to do. |

Popping - viewtopic.php?p=199495#p199495 Fan - http://www.ecmspy.com/cgi-bin/detail.cg ... offset=969 - turn bit 5 off (and maybe a few other things) Not sure how Twinmotorcycles will give you a bespoke map by setting it up over the internet. They will be giving you something they have already made for another bike on their dyno. Without wideband lambda sensors in front and rear headers, you can't really do a proper remap. |

Thank you all for the quick answers. Pash, you are right, I did not make myself clear when I said 'ad hoc'. What they said is that they have a good set-up for my bike. And you confirmed me that the only thing they will do is to load a map that 'should' fit. I have seen the other posts you linked and they answered my questions. I will try those changes when back to Italy. I am just worried about making changes to timings... I hope I won't brake anything. |
