hi guys, my Uly is at 10k and needs the 10k service...part of that is the fork oil change. now i have heard that changing my OE 06 fork springs to those from the 07 model (with less oil) will improve the handling and lessen the fork dive under braking? i dont think the springs are expansive, but i just want to know if its a worthwhile upgrade or not? has anyone on here done it? thx Lars |

i take it from the silence, that no-one here has done this... it seems to be the our friends from the U.S. badweather forum have done it and say it improves the handling...hence i am considering it... |

I always put heavier oil in X forks if the rider is over 11 stone.....this seems to work just fine, never thought they needed re-springing as the OEM items are already OTT. |

06 models have dual rate springs, 07 models have tri-rate springs. I'm not unhappy with my 06 model but would say that I've experienced less dive on 07 and later models. For that reason (and for the minimal cost) I'm going to get mine changed at the 20,000 mile service because I can ![]() Steve |
