Have noticed as of late that my horn only works intermittently (I am sure there is a joke in there somewhere!). Anyway after checking with a multimeter have found there is current getting to the horn itself. Have tried replacing it with halfords item but still no joy.
Am now thinking it may be a dodgy ground. Anyone have any idea where I would find said ground for the horn, or am am on the wrong track altogether? There is a huge clump of wires under the flyscreen and its difficult to figure out what goes where.

Could be a problem with the switch itself. Does the button feel like the spring is good? Ive never taken a Buell one apart, but on other bikes theyre fairly easy.

I'm a complete numpty when it omes to all things electrical. I thought an earth and a ground were the same thing. Pash, if it is earthed would I be correct in assuming it ties on to the frame behind the front light cluster?

Earth and ground are different terms for the same thing.

If you have battery voltage on one of the horn terminals all the time with the ignition on but the horn button not pushed then it is earth switched. If that's the case, short THE OTHER terminal to earth with a piece of wire. If the horn doesn't sound it's buggered, if it does sound you have a problem with your wiring/horn push. If you don't fancy shorting the terminal to earth, check continuity of this other terminal to earth. You should see it short to earth when you press the horn button.

Just re read this and I haven't been as clear as I should have been.....you should pull the connector OFF the horn and test the cable continuity to ground when you push the horn button

Horn has a switched live ie. permanently earthed.

Thanks for help guys. Yeah, I have located where I think the earth is and it appears to be completely corroded. Will have a go at cleaning it up and see if it makes any difference.
