Post subject:  2001 X1 performance problem

My latest addition to the stable (2001 X1) pictured left is absolutely gutless (so much so I have let the Mrs use it), cold starting is good, tick over is fine (for a Buell) and the engine is quiet, and power delivery feels quite linear…….its just soooo slow…..if you open the throttle with any enthusiasm it feels like the engine is ‘bogging down’.

As far as I can tell the injection set up is standard, it has a Race ECM, an aftermarket exhaust and US rear Pulley, the bike has 9k miles on it and looks absolutely as new.

I have a Mikuni ready and waiting in the garage which was destined for the M2, but TBH I’ve never fitted it because I am currently happy with the M2s performance. Should I fit the Mikuni to the X1 instead :?:

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I’m sticking with the M2 for now and letting the mopeds overtake Mrs S. :old:

Fit the Mikuni to the M2....you'll be well impressed at the improvement 8-)

The X1 definitely has a problem as it should easily be as quick as the M2......do you have EcmSpy ?

I don't have ECM spy at the moment, I assume I'll need to get a data cable :?:
