So,,,

Just got to work and half way the bike (xb12s) started making a ticking sort of noise.

Parked it up just and had a listen with my helmet off and it sounds like a sowing machine even worse than usual. Seems to be from the push rod side.

Its almost like a dry oscillating sounds like a knackered ball race.

Run fine no smoke etc

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Does the noise disappear when you pull the clutch in ?

Swarf on the engine drain plug is a VERY bad sign :(

Think I have found the problem,

After doing some digging this bike used to belong to filbertfatknacker,

After searching post the drive pump gear failed and he replaced a load of stuff on it obviously without much success.

Gutted

...but to be fair that was a full five years ago... be interesting to know the mileage then, and now...

My bad, but still longer than most manufacturers' warranties...
