if i was to sit at a constant speed of say 70mph,what would cause the engine to miss and hesitate. i'm considering going back to stock exhaust and plugs to see if these are the issue......xb12r...micron and iridium plugs..... cheers

its 2007 model..the front ht lead is ok as regards to wear or chaffing..ive had the bad rain situation where the front cyl. is exposed to water and have coated the front ht lead with acf-50. but this missing and hesitating only happens at a constant speed, its fine when accelerating hard (engine under load)

Hi does it do this? You are riding along holding the throttle in a fixed position, on a flat road, and the engine has a very slight up and down surge. A sort of on/off stutter/judder of the engine with the throttle not being moved. But is fine if you roll the throttle either on or off a little.

Blackbird was complaining about his XB12 doing the same but at 30-40mph. Had it in the HD garage - no sir nothing wrong! Had it checked by another "Buell Expert" said his bike is running really well and they all do that. I never got to ride his bike to see what he was on about. Hope this helps?

Here's his first post. Had some parts replaced but I know he had similar problem with constant speed since as well. His bike is newer than mine!

Hi. Do you wait for the engine light to go off before you start the engine. What have you done to match the engine with the can. Have you done the breather mod. How many miles on the bike.

Also does it "not" do it all the time and sometimes worse than others.

Mine used to do exactly this until Pash remapped the bike for me and now it is fine.

Hi Norrie. Do you have any details of the map. Thanks.

mine does the same, engine hunts on a constant throttle, but starts and runs fine otherwise.

2007 XB12Ss, run on Super Unleaded, Maz breather mod, slight mod to standard can, 3,000 miles, TPS reset 200 miles ago, usually started after the engine light goes out.
