I have a mate who has a little used X1. The other day he fires it up all ok only to find after a short trip when he pressed the starter button it tripped the circuit breaker which did reset after a while only to repeat when the button was pushed again, obviously it had a starter motor fault maybe solenoid problem any ideas or things to try before pulling the whole thing apart.

Is this the rectangular metal can under the back edge of the seat. It has two terminals with nuts to fix the wires? I thought this was a fuse . Interesting if it can reset. I wanted to blame it for my flat battery assuming a fuse I gave up on that theory. I noticed that the terminals are named. Its important they are refitted the way suggested in manual. One is BAT the other AUX.
I'm on train. Bike not running.battery troubles.
