Hi Gents,

Just noticed my rear base gasket seems to be weeping. I have a two questions:

1 Does this need immediate attention?
2 If so, should I bite the bullet and do it myself, or entrust it to the local HD dealer?

Nah, there's already one on the market, admittedly it's the other side of the continent lOl Not even road legal.

Almost all buells do that overtime ,even the great XB's :hehe:

If it was mine then I would keep an eye on it and go from here.
But I definitely would do the work myself!

Half the fun of owning is wrenching on it :yup:

You could put the white of an egg in the oil tank I guess...

In that case I'll keep an eye on it, start getting the parts, and do it myself sometime. I'm just a bit worried that once I start I'm going to find lots of other stuff to do and I'll never get it back on the road again :P

You could change all the gaskets and replace the oil pump gear if it hasn't been done already

I'll probably do that, plus get the heads cleaned up and recoated, or maybe just cleaned up. Is there a definitive list of parts I'll need for this on here anywhere ?

Give Mazzle a ring, I think he knows the history of the bike and he'll tell you what you need...
