Have a problem getting my bike to idle. I've made a bluetooth link so i can run ECMdroid. Done loads of TPS resets but it will not keep idle. Hunts between 800 and 1200 untill it finally coughs and dies!
When i wind off the idle screw i noticed that the TPS voltage will not drop below .81v
With the TPS reset and zero, when you twist and let go of the throttle it doesn't always return to zero...a little sticky in the body maybe..
Winding up the idle screw does not give me any stable idle. At the moment TPS shows 7.1. and 1.11v 800 to 1200rpm for 15 to 20 seconds then coughs and dies

The bike's 2005 and runs K&N plus full Micron which i don't think has ever been mapped..pops and bangs on lift off like something evil :) trying to get to that but i need to get her running again first.

Whereabouts are you in the United Kingdom?

Cambridgeshire.

Oh and thank you for the data link cable. When i get hold of a lap top, will run ecmspy, but droid was a quick way in to have a look.

I would whip the airbox cover off and clean the butterfly. I'd also check the static timing and putting a load of injector cleaner in the tank won't do any harm...

Check the intake seals aren't leaking , spray with wd40 while running and see if the running changes,

As pash said clean T/B and when you do tps reset put a small amount of pressure on the throttle to the stop then reset.
Give that a go :yup:

This combination seems wrong. Given a TPS Zero Voltage of 0.81 (quite usual), a TPS voltage of 1.1 V should indicate roughly 5.xx degrees throttle position, 7.1 degrees should be around 1.2xx volts for TPS voltage.
