How do you compress the Ast so i can take the tension off the bolts to remove the muffler bracket to re-paint. Sensible answers only please.

How is the bike supported?

It is as simple as lifting or dropping the rear wheel. I've done this sort of stuff single handedly on the side stand by pulling the bike in the direction whereby it unloads the rear wheel... I live dangerously...

Abba stand and then unbolt the shock and let the wheel rest on the floor ;) , remember that using a paddock stand under the swingarm does not work. lOl If no Abba stand support the bike by the rear subframe from your garage roof ect .

If I put a jack under the engine thus lifting the rear wheel of the floor, would that work?

All sorted thanks chaps, easy when you know how!
Small bolt holding one side of regulator missing what size is it? Screws into a suspension bracket on offside.
