06 Ully, headed out on Friday in pouring rain, heading for Shamrock Rally in Killarney Ireland. Did about thirty miles when suddenly lost power and went on one cylinder. Pulled off the road and stopped under a flyover for shelter and just as suddenly it came on two cylinders. Back on the wet road for another thirty miles and hey presto we are on one cylinder again. Dried off in a garage this time and decided to try for home. Ten miles of spluttering and back firing on the rear cylinder. Tick over two cylinders, 2500 RPM miss firing, 3500 RPM massive backfires, rear cylinder. Suddenly full power and a dash for home in the rain. Three miles from home spluttering and nursed home. Fired it up today, tick over two cylinders, heat in both exhausts, rev it up and it splutters, no back fires. Full Micron system, K+N filter, air box breather mod and a full TPS reset/ EMC spy thingy done last year ( not by me toooo technical ) Where do I start looking ? |

Thanks, I will check it out later but Im convinced that its the rear cylinder that it spluttering and the back fires where coming from the rear cylinder. Today when I fired it up the front exhaust was hot and the rear exhaust was warm. The Micron system has two exits and the sound was related to the rear cylinder. |

Ully fixed, coil hanging free, one fastener missing and the other one completely undone. Front and rear HT leads in place but not making good connections. Both spark plugs very sooty. Thanks Pash |
