Post subject:  Forcewinder spacer
Now that it's running again I'm fitting a Forcewinder (courtesy of bugsinmateeth :yup: )
Anyway, as with the pro series filter, there is a spacer. As far as I can see the only purpose of this is to create one extra potential leak path, but as someone has gone to the trouble of making it I guess it has a purpose. Is it essential for some reason, such as creating a perfect intake length or something, or am I OK to leave it out :?: :?

I too have a similar spacer (pro race filter) sitting on a shelf. Never fitted it myself, not sure why I didn't. Will be interested in others responses to know if I should've.

I think that spacer is for the pro race air filter to fit not the forcewinder

Hmm, yes, it is identical. Maybe it was just left on on bugs's X1. I'll just leave it out and see what happens then :P

Force supply that spacer with their XR2 kits for X1's.......it moves the assembly away from the frame in order to accommodate the shit billet breather system :)

Aha, it's also about 5mm thinner than the pro series one. I noticed bug's bolts have a different thread pitch to mine, is that because I've got a Mikuni and he didn't :?:

Fuel injection throttle body has metric threads, carbs are imperial.

Oh yes, forgot X1's have FI :oooops: (haven't seen one in the flesh for about 10 years lOl )

Just been out for the first time with the forcewinder. Soooo much better not having the air filter in the way of my knee all the time 8-)
