Hi, Can anyone explain the differences between the 1125 engines? Is the 2008 a type A? The 2009 on is type B why? Is the CR and R engine the same, what about the gearing? Sorry for all the questions, I am looking to buy "hopefully" a CR when a good one comes up, so want to do my homework first. Many thanks, Andy |

I believe the engines in the R and CR are the same with standard 146hp. The gearing on the CR is lower though. Later ones had issues with the stators but all should have been sorted now. The clutch slave cylinders tended to leak at about 3000 miles but once fixed are fine. Oberon seems the replacement of choice. Some of the revisions to the 2010 models include; standard flat bars, water pump bearing, front brake piston seals, extra rear wheel bearing, modified cam chain guides, sight window for oil level checks ( apparently a pain on earlier models) LED rear light, battery charging lead pre installed etc etc. But most importantly you can get a white one! It all makes it worth trying for a 2010 model but they are pretty thin on the ground. As a riding experience any one of the 1125s will not disappoint though. Good luck with quest |

Short wheel base takes some getting used to. A very sweet engine ( rattly at slow speeds) Keep an eye on the wheel bearings. It's normal for them to wee a little petrol from the breather when you park up due to the heat getting into the fuel tank. If you change the drive belt don't worry that it's so tight, that's normal. Just have fun |
