When I bought my 2001 Cyclone last year, it seemed to vibrate quite a lot - not just at tickover- but gets a little smoother at about 3200 rpm. Upon inspection, the front isolator had split, and the rear ones looked shagged. So, I bought and fitted a new front one, and the rear ones from Twin Motorcycles - but no change, it still vibrates. I've put up with this until last weekend when I rode another M2. I was shocked - yes, it shook at tickover, but from about 2000 rpm upwards, it was as smooth as glass. Any ideas on the source of the excess vibes? Are there different quality isolators out there? Thanks |

If the isolators are good check that there is nothing that is catching or rubbing anywhere , it might be worth having things like the ignition timing checked etc . Also is it standard regarding cams etc ? |

How about the exhaust header to frame mounting, is that rubberised? |

It's got the race exhaust system with one of Maz's heavy duty front mountings. All standard apart from that (I think). It doesn't feel like something is rubbing, just feels like the rubber in the isolators is too hard - is that even possible? The ones I bought from TM were a reasonable price, compared to the big-eared ones (L0505.9R and L0504.9L). Is there any difference in the rubber hardness? |

I renewed them when I fitted a Spondon 440 billet mount. I changed the original mount after the bolts failed (due to the vibration), then I fitted a Stezel brace to make sure it didn't happen again. Maybe a trip to Maz is called for... |

Remove the stenzel brace and see what it's like  If you haven't got the ears on the rear isolaters i don't know what make they are unless they are very old stock Buell ones.

What was the outcome? I've just added some ally inserts that go in the isolators and fuck me does it vibrate. Just got to Cornwall so will be removing them and see what happens |
