My X1 is coughing and hanging from cold, new plugs, fresh premium grade fuel and no errors showing up on ECMDriod and tps reset, any ideas? Cheers, Mark |

Leaky o rings on the fuel pump? Cracked exhaust? Leaking inlet manifold seals? What’s the AFV? |

Hi Nick, thanks for the reply. I think I can discount the exhaust crack as I've just wrapped them because I wasn't keen on the white ceramic coating that the previous owner paid through the nose to have but on but on a plus's side I think it would have highlighted a crack. AFV if I'm reading it correctly is 102.1? Tomorrow I'll start checking O rings and seals, one thing I have noticed is that the pump sounded odd the first time I powered it up after refitting the tank but put it down to low fuel and maybe being dry? Cheers, Mark |

You are right, I'll take the exhaust off first in case it's sucking air in Mark |

Check your Engine Temperature Sensor on ECMdroid, mine had a haywire reading as it goes up to 130°C, and sounded like it was firing on one, cylinder now and again, and bogging down (personally I would rather delete the sensor but realise its part of the mapping ). my bike is 2001 and has never had one in the 10 years I have owned it, so with all that heat, they must fail. My pump always sounds like its struggling and engine on, if it hasnt been ridden for a while..... |
