Hi folks,

Still trying to get the low down running on my 1125r a bit smoother.

Has anyone got any experience of removing the air box cover. Mine came without one fitted but with a standard air cleaner. I'm thinking this may have weakened the mixture low down.

Also (Sorry) anyone had any good experiences with better plugs than standard ones. IE iridium, triple point or anything?

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks in advance. Paul.

Impossible to weaken mixture.....lambda's take care of that.
Airbox cover needs to be fitted, run a K+N filter and make sure to get rid of the AIC.
Standard plugs are fine, iridium better.

Thanks Maz,

I was totally unaware that lambdas do that, & it's a very interesting piece of info.

K&N is easy enough to get but think I need the air box cover more at this point.

Can you clarify what the AIC is, where it is & why I needs to come off thanks?

The guy I bought it off is meant to be sending the air box cover to me but seems in little rush to do this. Maybe I can hurry him along a bit, like right after this.

Pash bless him sent me & Lent me an ECU with the BUE2D firmware which has improved it quite a bit, but not to the extent I was hoping. I'm now getting keener for the air box cover.

I was thinking iridiums, easy to get as pair for £16.80 for a pair on ebay, used them before with great results in Triumphs.

Thanks for your help Maz.

I'll take a ride over to your Emporium when I get this sorted. It's only 60miles or so from where I am. I'd like to just meet & great & have a look at what you do as you come very highly recomended on here.

All the best Paul.

Active Intake Control or 'noise police'......it's a solenoid that can shut the throttle even if you have it pinned wide open !.....very dangerous IMO and should be removed asap

Bagged myself a complete airbox with K&N for £57 all in that my wife (bless her) funded for me.
Aren't partners great, or maybe she wants me to shut the F**k up ha ha.
Doesn't look like the guy I go bought off is in any rush to send the original. That's annoying, Snarl. But I would have still bought a K&N for £40/50 anyway I guess, so a bargain.
Hopefully this may address the im balance at the moment. Keep you informed. Paul & Thanks always.
