Hi Guys
I have an 56plt Ulysses and every time I turn ignition key on it blows the 30amp fuse. I realise I have a short somewhere and have done the visual checks. No obvious earths I can see. Is there anyone with experience of this or anything I should specifically be checking out ?

Cheers Des.

 if your blowing a 30amp fuse
you have a dead short, check cables around the headstock
it should be an obvious burn mark pulling that amount of current
I would seriously be looking & smelling for burning .

My money is on the headstock but I'd start disconnecting stuff to see if it is a fault with a part or a short with the harness.

Thanks Fellas, I checked all in the headstock n no signs of burning scorch marks or loose wires etc. But gave the cables the once over and found that if I disconnected the Red and Black wires from the Regulator Rectifier ( no Blown Fuses )! The Yellows AC to the Alternator didn't affect. I didn't know the Regulator Rectifier was part of the ignition process, I thought its job was just to feed the Battery with direct current.
I did the diode test on the multimeter and sure enough it failed. I wouldn't mind but it's not a year old. I replaced it last April.
So I have another question. How do I know it's not fault causing the Reg' Rec' to fail rather than the Reg' Rec' being the fault? After all I don't want to spend another £133 on a knew one and get the same result.
Cheers Des.
