My eye sight ain’t as good as it used to be, so struggling to see it in the manual. Can anyone tell me which wire is the feed and which one is the ground on the speedo of a 2001 X1.

My eye sight ain’t as good as it used to be, so struggling to see it in the manual. Can anyone tell me which wire is the feed and which one is the ground on the speedo of a 2001 X1.

Gray wire on harness side is live feed, red wire on VSS side. Black wire on both sides is earth. White wire on both sides is signal. HOWEVER.....gray wire should be disconnected and insulated and the sensor should instead get its live from the red/white wire which is the 5 volt feed from the ECM to the CPS, this will save the VSS from damage due to voltage spikes. |
