Hi Maz, I found a guy who'll swap his 2007 ScG parts for my 2004 12R parts. I'll have to ride up to Baltimore. From what I gather, this is a straight swap of both fork tubes, the shock, and the sidestand. What tools and expendable parts will I need to pack on the back of my bike? How long do you figure an amateur would take? And can I do it all with just two scissor jacks (he has no stands, and a garage but no rafters)? Thanks in advance, Kurt ( kurt-kurosawa@cox.net ) |

steerer head bearings? depends on the mileage of the bikes and might be an idea to change them as the forks etc are out |

Thanks all, esp for correcting what I read elsewhere about the '04 12R (no other years) and '07 ScG fork diameter being both 41mm. Thanks also for the tip about the steering head bearings. It's starting to seem I should schedule some time at a Harley dealership near the ScG owner and have them do it, not only 'cause I don't relish the idea of taking bike stands on my bike, but 'cause I want it done in one day. |
