A 07 xb12s motor just popped up and I need to decide quickly whether to buy or not. Can I use it in my xb9r-03 if I get the ecm, exhaust and headers?? Thanks for all and any help /Mike |

Sounds good, you`ll also need the throttlebody and injectors from the 12..HTH |

My mate Spudley (no longer on here) fitted an '07 XB12 motor to an '03 XB9R - hmm, some similarity! My memory's crap so I can't remember much but it worked. He had some issues with the sprockets but if you've got them it shouldn't be a problem. I also seem to remember he needed the belt tensioner off the 12? Not sure if it was completely necessary. Pash may remember more about the details of the conversion, maybe pm him? In the meantime I'll see if Spudley remembers anything. |

Yes for some reason, the belt was a little "loose" with the standard tensioner. That may be because it was an 07 belt with an 03 swing arm. thecoldplace sold him the engine. Cheers Nick |

Thanks again guys for all the help....didn´t even know there was an old site,,,,woulda searched there before asking if I´d known. Gunna sleep on the decission, the misses is already in a fluster cause she thinks everything that has to do with my hobby is too expensive so we´ll see cheers Mike |

What's with the changed oil lines? 03 swingarm requires all lines coming from the bottomside, 07 models have lines coming from the upper side. |

Seems to me vent oil line needs an new fitting at the engine. I just had a look at a Uly 07 FM, but that one looks very different. I also do remember the oil cooler line(s) changed in 06. Perhaps it's a good idea to remove and keep all oil line fittings from the old engine. |

You are right, the connector has changed which goes between the vent and the cam cover. The cam covers have changed part numbers for some reason, however I would think the thread is the same. So, yes, ist would need the connector (right angle bend) too. |

That´s what your spuddley did in the old forum, he used all the 07 oil lines except the cam one. replaced it with the 03 with the connection into the cam/gearbox Different subject,. sortof....when putting the oil connections back in the swingarm what is recommended on the threads...is it locktite or something too prevent leaking...same would go for the camgear connection....And while we´re at it wat is the equivalent (really bad spelling there) to the harley locktite "red" Thanks Mike |

Am now the proud owner of a xb12s-07 engine with 3650km. Got the complete engine,oil lines ecm, front & back pulley, rem, tensioner + complete plastic gurds, rear brake cylinder, heads and muffler (stock) for 2472 pounds which is a pretty good price seeing the other dealer wanted 3000pounds for the 04 engine without the pulley and rem and the other 04 engines I´ve found go for around 2000 pounds without the rest. So now I just have to wait for it to get here
