Got this a couple weeks ago for not to much!

After cleaning up the fuel pump housing in the ultrasonic cleaner a couple times and putting all new seals and parts in with fresh fuel it sort of started at first try! 8-)

After somewhere around 15 years standing in a shed (bottom of side stand totally rusted off lOl

Removed old oil and put fresh oil in and new filter , rebuild fuel pump and cleaned fuel tank it's nice to hear it run!

:yup:
that's going too keep you busy for a while , labour of love , ideally could do with a full strip, clean and polish/paint as required . like you say its been sat for 15 years in a shed , so a couple more years whilst you returning it to former glory wont go amiss , good that the engine now runs , you could just keep running the engine from time to time, , whilst you pull the front end out for overhaul and re fit then the back end the same , then use it for a few months of this year ,before engine out ,and clean up refurb as required .
good luck , all the best .
take you time with the rusty seized screws and bolts , penetrating oil and time are your friend here :yup:

The idea of stripping it down crossed my mind!
But not just now , have some other things that needs put together and finished first.
So the plan is to get the brakes to work and putting fresh tires on and ride it this summer to see how it's going to perform.
Maybe trying a light polish on the wheels to see how good or bad they are.
Also if it's going in pieces for cleaning up and having the frame repainted it needs new upper fork legs , because these one's are corroded beyond repair!

Thanks for the comments and ideas :yup:

Got some time to spend on it this afternoon!

So did remove some rusty bolts and also the front pulley cover to have a look at the pulley and 5th gear/output shaft.
Removed the rubber seal and everything looked clean and still oiled behind it :worthy:
So it was nice to see that.
And now it was a good moment to do a upgrade , so I put a alloy grease plug in that I acquired some time ago from Andy (Spondon 440)
I made a couple for myself on a small lathe in the past , but it was nice to use a specially made part this time!
It was easy to install with a socket and hammer with a couple lightly taps it was installed.

I put the plugs in the other way around , works both ways I suppose.

The nipple was turned in on this side ,so I thought it should go in this way!

I actually thought the smooth side should be on the outside but because this came to me like this I had it wrong

He only makes them to my design, he doesn't know how they fit.

Did check the model of the plug and the sides are straight
So yes its possible to fit them both ways!

But i see why the design has the groove on one side (inside)
So it allow more grease in the bearing.

I got mistaken because of the nipple turned in het other side
