Post subject:  Remus can Horror

Well, I just on the weekend installed my new Remus pipe, Pro Kit ECM and Pro Kit filter which was a fairy enjoyable experience much to my surprise onto my 03 XB9R.

ECMSpy is a great tool that worked beatifully at resetting the TPS, and the new exhaust has such a heavenly sound that I dont really think the neighbours will worry much about the noise

Now the horror! Whilst fitting exhaust I noticed that I could not get the standard exhaust clamps back on - they where simply to small! I can't for the life of me get any longer ones from any Buell/HD dealer to fit, so now I have a great sounding/looking bike that cant be ridden because I may lose the exhuast.

Any advice from the more expirienced buellers out there who have fitted a Remus can would be greatful. Oh I should probably mention that the Remus can is for a XB12R fitted to a XB9R, from what I understand there is no difference in diameter of the cans or how they fit.

Regards

Col

I guess that you are talking about the giant jubilee clips. If so could you join two together by winding the tail of one into the other.

When I fitted mine, I never had a problem with the original straps.

I thought mine would not be long enough but after a bit of pulling and jiggling it fitted. I had to pull the strap up hard to start my nut ;) ;)

Have another try as they are a bit on the short side.

Thinking back, I seem to remember the same... Anyone would think it was the same muffler... ;)

Usually large stainless clips like this are available from good industrial supplies. They are use alot in industry that use large pipework, ducting and dust controll etc.
