Can any one give me some advice on replacing fork oil seals!! My brother will be assisitng me, who is a good car mechanic but also got this bike back on the road when so much went wrong.. so any info will be appreciated.. i guess i will also change fork oil..thanks col.. ![]() ![]() |

Done the tuber forks but not the XB forks, they can't be much different. Have you got a manual and a seal tool (not sure what the correct term is)? |

All working areas, tools, hands, etc must be spotless clean. No dirt to get into the system. Know how USD forks go together. Have the fork manual and a diagram if possible. Have all new parts to hand before starting the job as well as any special tools needed. Change everything IE - A rebuild as no point doing it otherwise ![]() |

Well i dont have the fork tool, nor had i planned on renewing everything..... so for example what else do you think i should renew ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Trouble is that you have to use the slider as a slide hammer to remove the seal, this usually damages the bushes and support ring. |

I'd get Tubbs to do it at Moore Speed Racing down in Parkstone near Poole, Dorset. |

![]() I would if I had never done it before. The outcome of getting it wrong could be expensive or worse. Do not know the cost these days though. |

am getting it done by tubbs at end of month.. so will have to go to yoffis run with leaky forks!!as you say getting it wrong will be much worse.. ![]() ![]() |
