Post subject:  Quick geometry question: XB12S Forks and yoke position

Hi there,

I recently purchased an XB12S Lightning after nearly two years without a Buell. My last Buell was an XB12R Firebolt with a flat bar conversion. I really love the lightning, despite it having no underseat space etc, however I've noticed something which is different to my '03 Firebolt (it could be down to the flat bar conversion on the older bike).

The Yokes have been dropped over the forks so the second ring is showing over the top yoke. As I recall this was not the case on my XB12R. Has the DPO (dreaded previous owner) been playing silly beggars with my bikes geometry? It does seem a little twitchy but then my last bike was a Triumph speed four which was pretty stable in comparison.

Can anyone help? Even a photo of the forks and yokes of a stock '04 XB12S (or probably any normal flavour XB12S - not a cg or long) would be useful.

Cheers,

Mark.

Sounds standard to me....can you see the stopper ring around the fork underneath the top yoke ?

Hi Maz,

I didn't realise there was a stopper ring, I'll have a look when I'm home tomorrow.

Cheers! :)
