Has anybody got a picture of their X1 timing cover after it's been cut down and back on the bike? Thanks |

Very nice both of them. S1nner - re your comment on keeping the paint finish, shouldn't S1's have polished cases? And why doesn't yours? |

AFAIK all the pictures I have ever seen of a Molten Orange bike had silver painted engines - it may be true of all S1s from '98. Many have been polished, so it is hard to be certain, but I think that all S1W of the same era came polished, but again, it is hard to know what is original. Either way, silver look nice that bare (rather Harley-esce) metal imho. Wouldn't mind the black engine in mine though - now that I am going thru the black phase rather than my tango time. Think it is standard, but after 10 years of 'marriage', who knows how long she might have been cheating on me. |

Black = ![]() ![]() I've cut a few of these covers. To stop the powder coat flaking at the edges, always linish into the paint and it won't be a problem. Same goes for when you put it on the polishing wheel. Put a nice smooth radius on the edge of the hole where the ignition wires emerge. Don't cut into the oilway if you've an early cover ![]() |
