Cam position sensor not connected correctly if the looms been messed around with so the ecu doesn't realise the engine is turning over? |

Have you timed the sensor to the front cylinder TDC mark during firing stroke? (I know you probably have, but you could have done it to the rear one................) ![]() |

checked all earths ,think cam sensor o.k as it is returning a signal, will check timing, i do not think it would stop it sparking and injecting ??. has anyone come across ecu failure . |

Check all the plugs are pushed in fully to the ecu - I had similar problems after disconnecting various bits and thought everything was in tight - so, eventually, I unplugged the ecu and fully rehoused the 3 plugs - boy did I feel stupid - then the battery goes and ***** itself. AAAAArgh!!! |

Hi have the connections behind the belt cover been unplugged at any time?? as two plugs both have three pins and are the same triangular body and will fit together their only difference is one is black and one is grey....worth checking... |

hi milkster go to the top of the class, yes after weeks of checking all the parts i thought might be broken, i discovered some plonker had got the 2 3 pin plugs the wrong way round. changed them back and tried it ,fired up on rear cyl think front plug fouled. |

Quote: think cam sensor o.k as it is returning a signal, So if it was connected to the speed sensor.......how was it returning a signal ? ![]() |

I was getting a signal at the ecu ,the wrong one, as it was connected to the speed sensor , as you have pointed out .at the time i was turning the engine over with the rear wheel which ment the speed sensor was active. |
