Why is the oil filter on my XB12 sticking every time I want to change it? It doesnt't do so on my XB9, and I mount them both the same way, tightened by hand, and I'm an IT guy, not a wrestler ...

The last two times the only way to get the filters off was to destroy them completely and remove the remainings using a punch and a mallet. No problem with the XB9 though.

Any ideas anybody?

are the threads tight when you screw the filter on?

The threads are fine, even removed one to examine it closely. It feels, as if the o-ring starts to swell up with the time, although lubricated as required, and they don't look different. Using Buell filters on both.

Guess the filters like the 12 as there's slightly less chance of them being abused by flying metal than when fitted to a 9
