My X1 has got 1/2 ma drain on the clocks fuse any ideas what to do about it are welcome.
It half drains the battery overnight so it wont start in the morning...just enough to get mi hopes up but not enough to start it. :headbang: Have noticed the neutral light hasnt been working for a while , wonder if that has owt to do with it? Would rather fix it that try and find new clocks. :sad1:

1/2 ma is nothing, certainly not enough to pull a battery down overnight......reckon your battery is fucked.
The feed to the clocks is to keep the trip counter alive.
Neutral light is almost certainly a switch fault (very common) or the idiot lamp.

Fukin sick o battery probs..cant seem to get a decent one..this is a new one a german one , a warranty replacement for the third in a line of moto bats two of which were u/s when they arrived the third of which lasted 10 months before dropping to 10volts instantaneously.
they are not gona stand another replacement.......
Charging rate seems a little high 14v on idle and going off the 16v scale on me voltmeter..
could it be frying the batteries? the reg/rect is an aftermarket replacement thats been on for quite a few years.
So frustrating..spoils a great experience.

If that voltage reading is accurate - You could indeed by frying batteries.

I'd be worried if it went above 15V on any 12V system.

You won't get better than the OEM batteries - and they can last over 10 years if they're looked after.

Trouble is that an OEM battery costs 130 quid and only has a 6 month warranty.......I now use Varta, which cost 60 quid and have a 2 year warranty.......not had any issues with them yet.....bit of a no brainer methinks :)

Well... new reg /rec fitted and the charge rate is 13v max...is this enough ?
When I start the bike with voltmeter on the battery it drops as low as 8v initially as it starts turning then picks up to 10v as it spins it over.....
After a ride it was measuring 12.8v ....reckon a new battery is destined :sad1:
