Just got some high speed bearings off ebay (6203zz) my problem is they have metal seals. Is this O.K.? or should I chuck em and get rubber seal ones.I am a bit worried that they wouldn't last to long in the outdoor elements(built for electric motors...etc)Would have to buy standard bearings because I don't think the high speed ones come out with rubber seals. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks

any 6203 2rs bearing should do, if it'll work as a wheel bearing it'll be ok for the tensioner!... :) :)

I would get rubber sealed ones as that is what came out. Can the guy swap them?

Nowt wrong with fitting them and then replacing them when worn out. That is to assume that the failure mode will be through (accelerated) wear rather than seizure, which could wreck the belt...

I will be fitting some this week, got some SKF 2RS off an EBay seller for a couple of quid a piece.
