...........are you watching this thread Tubbs - two satisfied customers for EBR's ECM's !......... this is becoming a trend ! My 08 Uly goes well enough but is really lively from 5K rpm when it should of course be like that from the off; it also pops like an inglorious basterd. Hence my interest. |

shudnobeta wrote: Has anyone tried a EBR 2008-2009 XB12 MODEL PREPROGRAMMED or programmable ECM & if so has it worked ? http://www.ebracing.com/shop/page11.html I made a few enquiries with EBR but they didn't have a map for my Free Spirits exhaust. They advised me buying their ECM + tuning software + dyno runs = too much money! I contacted dris @ twin motorocycles and was nearly going to purchase one of his ECMs but his prices are alot more expensive than EBR. In the end I took a chance on a Free Spirits TFI which has livened up my bike to say the least. Blackbird rode my bike for a few miles last week and he noticed how responsive it was! No doubt it's not as good as a full on tuned eCM but for me I needed to spend probably about £700+ which was not an option! If EBR did a ECM for my exhaust I may be very tempted to buy one though! |

Fitted a preprogrammed ECM last week, immediately after taking it for a spin after its first 10K service. The ECM is a big improvement. Noticably smoother, healthier feel to the engine. More air intake noise. Popping - which was big-time - nearly all gone. Low range faster. Mid range 3-5K still not perfect. Top range faster and seems more comfortable in the higher rev range. All in all a big improvement and close to how they should of come outa the factory - the programmable one would probably be better still, but thats too much dosh for me. |
