hello i am new to this forum and am from the old school i have a buell xi lightning which has not been used for two years plus and is now sick .hard to start. no tickover. misfiring. blowing back through exhaust .tried all my usual tricks to no avail ,then spoke to young biker, said i need to read codes and get myself ecmspy and a cable so what im asking is, can anyone help, told it might be tps regards wully |

Sounds like mine when I put diesel in it last week Had it been left for 2 years with petrol in it? |

Where was it stored ... ? might have had some water get in somewhere and corrode the electrickery - How close are you to Manchester ... I know a bloke who does a decent service |

Having just gone through similar processes it may be worth getting someone who knows about fuel injection systems to give it the once over. Apparently when left for long periods the residual petrol evaporates to leave possible crudge which blocks/screws up the injectors and may need blowing out etc. |

It's wet sumped and the fuel needs changing. |
