Hi, I require a race exhaust for a 2009 Buell XB12SS. Must be as new condition as doesn't create a load of popping and banging issues when fitted. Can contact me on darren@faulkner.cc |

A "Race" exhaust doesn't exist for your bike. They did for 03/04/05/06/07 models, but they went rusty and fell apart... If I were you, if you don't want to buy an 1125CR, I would buy some pre-08 headers (which is what your bike comes with in the states) then an Albert (of this very forum), a Remus or a Free Spirits. Other alternatives are Drummer (if you can get one) or a Tubbs modified can... You could also look at the Exhaust Shootout here and pick the winner. Bear in mind that all the headers will be US or UK 03/04/05/06/07... |

I already have a race exhaust produced by Stealth Engineering. However, its causing popping and banging on my bike. |

I didn't know the Stealth exhaust was a "Race" exhaust. |

Popping and banging is what Buelling has always been about, surely? |

I have the race exhaust on my 2006 XB12S. It pops and bangs on the overrun if I thrash the bike, which is mainly on the track. Under normal commuting conditions it doesn't pop or bang. |

Hi, Ive never had a Buell before so thought it would be like any other twin. My bike doesnt need much throttle to get the bangs and pops. Harley at Dock Gate 22 and Oxford both recommended to get the fuel gadget. I bought the Remus Powerizer and things have just got worse. However, this is on tick over, I havent had chance to take it for a proper run. |

Sounds familiar.....is the madness spreading Easterly from Plymouth? Seriously, have you connected the powerizer to the air temp sensor wire by mistake? Cheers, Richard. |

wobbly wrote: Sounds familiar.....is the madness spreading Easterly from Plymouth? Seriously, have you connected the powerizer to the air temp sensor wire by mistake? Cheers, Richard. Not sure... I got the instructions from Trojan Horse and was told to connect the wire to the purple and white connection on the Throttle sensor... I sent Matt photos etc of where it was connected and a little video too He confirmed it was correct. But I dont think it is. The instructions from Remus were crap and didn't even have the same wirings diagram or illustrations for the 2009 Buell. I asked another guy about were the throttle sensor was and he told me to RTFM (read the F**** manual). SO it does sound like ive wired it to the wrong place but the Remus powerizer reports not faults... Can someone please send me a photo of where the wire should be installed. Darren Please send to darren@faulkner.cc Much appreciated |

Is the bike running badly? Or is just popping on the overrun? That's kind of par for the course with a race exhaust but it shouldn't be too bad in normal riding although still present. I have a Tubbs modified one that pops a tiny wee bit in street riding but was banging away like a bastard on a trackday - especially braking for a hairpin. Cos, at the end of the day, you've put a race exhaust on a street bike so there are compromises. |
