Post subject:  Signals for Instrument module

Hi peeps,

I'm in the process of developing a digital dash for the XB models and would need a couple of signals I can't get from the service manual and wiring diagrams.

I need to know if the engine check light connection from ECM gives 12V when active and also
what the TachIn signal (TachOut from ECM) looks like.

Unfortunately I can't check mine anymore as the bike is already in bits after my crash earlier this year.

Hope someone can help :geek:

Cheers
Dietmar

Tacho and speedo signals are 5V square waves. Speedo output frequencies are configurable for DDFI-3, or direct connected to the VSS before. The number of VSS pulses is 42 for models < 2006 and 48 for models > 2006, per one turn of the belt sprocket.

CEL is switched to ground for XB, the 1125 instrument cluster uses the CAN bus for his signals (except fuel), IIRC.
