Then the anouncement came and prices dropped to £5 to £5.5k for current models.

The anouncement came 5 days after I picked mine up.

If you can keep hold of your Buell for another couple of years the prices should stay similar, doubt they'll go up much but shouldn't drop too much.

I tried to sell mine at the end of last year and was gettign more than £3300 - decided to just keep it and get used to working on it etc.

Neil on here just sold his bike which was basically the same as mine for £4300 - so prices are back up.

The problem is that anyone on this forum that wanted one, managed to get hold of a new one brand new for £4995 (including the last of the '10 model year bikes.)
To the rest that missed the "opportunity" at that time, seeing second hand ones for £5k plus is always going to be a non starter. The warranty is running down and they are not overly popular.

£4395 would seem a reasonable price. IMHO.

First thing I thought was - Too Cheap!

If people keep selling their Buells cheaply this will drive down prices for everyone one else not to mentioned owners selling cheap are doing themselves no favours! These bikes were in the £8000 price band am I right?

People will be put off if it's too cheap suspecting some hidden problems! I'd thought should be around £6000, maybe more!

I totally agree.
If we, as Buell owners, sell them too cheap it will bugger resale values.
A new R6 or CBR600 will cost you in the region of £8.5k.
It makes a six to twelve month old 1125R or CR look incredibly cheap even at £6000.

That's life mate.
I bought a brand new T595 Daytona in 1997 for £9999. twelve months later, Triumph "adjusted" the new price to £8000 to combat the Euro Imports that were being flogged, even by main dealers.
My 18 month old bike with 18000 on the clock was only worth £4500.
If you bought a 1125 because it was a bargain, you did very well, but now you need to keep hold of it and ride it. ;)

It's now sold, part ex/ed yesterday and I think the only reason I got my price is because there was some dealer margin in what I was buying. Still looking for a sidecar outfit though!

Mojomick is bang on with his comments. Let's not forget they were £4,999 for a reason. Incidently the Glasses guide trade price is £3,950 and the supplying dealer was only prepared to offer £3,500! That's the market reality today.

I had some good times with the Bike, especially the blat down to Lemans and the recent track day at Llandow. However it always felt like a prototype and waiting for something else to go wrong. So that's why I've jumped ship now. Being off the road for six weeks with the clutch didn't help, and from what I've heared on this forum and others, there's plenty more to potentially go wrong as the miles stack up. And all this with no factory support, long lead times for spares, when available, and diminishing dealer interest.

So there we are, that's my few bobs worth. Best wishes to everyone and over and out!
