Had a fab time. Had a problem uploading photos, but have now managed to sort it out, so will post some later.

Right, sorry for the brief message....sent at work when I should have been working! lOl

Had a fantastic time. The campsite was great, with good facilities. A definite and big improvement on the facilities at the BSB last year (and FAR superior to Donington Park!!!!) There was a secure bike compound, where the bikes were tagged with a barcoded band, with a duplicate tag attached to our wrist...very reassuring. Only downside, no connection to bike to pump up airbed, which had to be done by hand!!! :hehe:

Richie and co. found a great place to camp, within staggering distance of all the vital facilities... stage, bar, toilets.... :hehe:

Saturday started a little damp and dreary, and thought they might stop the track time, but by 9.00 it had stopped and brightened up. Most of the morning was taken up with pre-track time briefing, then waiting for about an hour before getting our kit on and lining up. If I had realised that I would be riding round the track alone most of the way, then I might have been more nervous beforehand. I wish I had had someone to follow, so that I could see the lines they took etc. but most shot off really quickly and I just had to find my way round. I hadn't realised how different it would be to riding on the road. There are very few defining lines (no hedgerows, walls or road markings etc. ... lOl ) I am so glad I did it, though!!!! :sun:

It has made me realise I NEED to do a riding course though....... for cornering, positioning and confidence building etc. :yup:

The hospitality shown to us by the Silverstone staff was fantastic. Free Paddock passes for both days too....bonus! Gave us a great opportunity to see the top 3 riders of both races up close and personal. Free A4 photos taken on Nori Haga's Ducati by his sponsors, Xerox.

All in all, a great time. Thanks to CJ for organising this!  :4roz:

Although we didn't go it was a pleasure to make the arrangements. I'm glad all of you had a great time - Silverstone really did us/you proud :P....

See this topic for details of the BSB Silverstone weekend.

I was travelling much too slowly for most people anyway. I think I need to start on an easier circuit..... one with less bends in lOl lOl lOl

Hey Al... Saw some great overtaking watching at Stowe on MotoGP race day, but the WSB action looked great on the TV... I know what you mean about lines, Jill; Silverstone is WIDE & it's not easy to know where to go... Fantastic footage of Crutchlow taking the final turn onto the straight with the back all stepped out; he knew where he was going; straight to the top step of the podium!!!

Glad you all had a great weekend... :yup:

PS; I'm finally getting some new tyres Norrie... Steve even persuaded me to get the back changed too!!!

My tyres are totally knackered now as the back one is down to a slick in the middle.
My tyres were all covered in rubber marbles as I rode wide on one of the corners at the end of one of the straights. lOl
I'm thinking of trying Bridgestone 023's as there supposed to be dual compound.
I can't beleive that this will be my third set this year and It's not as if there cheap.
