I never bother with it, too fiddly . If some one wants your bike they will just lift it into a van. Tie a dog to it ... ;)

I snapped the key off in mine about 5 years ago. I've never bothered to fix it.

Put it this way - exactly how long did it take you to drill it out? - Small cordless drill and that's how much of a deterrent it is.

As far as I can tell, the only use of a steering lock is to enable you to amuse your friends by riding round in a very small circle, and then falling off :P

I tried that once but found the pads on its feet didn't even last as long as the pirellis ;)
