OK, we have dates confirmed.

Practice Day is Friday 29th, Race Day is Saturday 30th April, 2011.

Thursday I'll be running a trip over the Sperrin Mountains on some fabulous roads, and depending on interest I'll run a trip out to Donegal on Sunday 1st May, to make Monday (Bank Holiday in UK) the find-our-way-home day.

So I'm now sourcing accommodation for Wed, Thurs, Fri & Sat night. Of course folks may add or indeed subtract from that to suit their needs.

Easter is the previous weekend, with Easter Monday being the 25th April, which is a bit of a bugger really.

Anyway, nice to see so much interest, and as No 2 would say, is it April yet? ... :D

Definately interested, depending on finances and time off work.

I'll start planning now!

Definately up for this, its slightly more than a heugh and a gowl from my back door. Will make a pleaseant change from my usual haunts round the wonderful north coast.

No doubt you've come across this site which gives an idea of accomadation in the area. My boss is from that neck of the woods originally, I'll pick her brains on whats good, decent and shite.

Looking forward to it and meeting the diggertours virgins (Adam, third time lucky?)

For any waiverers (a real word now) the Cookstown 100 is a great event. As always, with any Irish Road Race, the craic is guaranteed.

There are some things nobody needs in this world and a bright-red, hunch-back, warp-speed 900cc cafe racer is one of them - but I want one anyway, and on some days I actually believe I need one. That is why they are dangerous.

The Cafe Racer is a different breed, and we have our own situations. Pure speed in sixth gear on a 5000-foot straightaway is one thing, but pure speed in third gear on a gravel-strewn downhill ess-turn is quite another.

But we like it. A thoroughbred Cafe Racer will ride all night through a fog storm in freeway traffic to put himself into what somebody told him was the ugliest and tightest decreasing-radius turn since Genghis Khan invented the corkscrew.

I have an inkiling of a plan to make a run at Capo Nord, Hammerfest Norway, no reason I can't plan on two excursions. I would never shy from the chance to ride with my new found UKBEG family.
