Just been given a new AVON STORM front tyre, has anyone used these tyres and if so what do you think...Regards Potts

I've been using then since they came out, although you should note that the 'Storm' was superseded by the 'Storm Ultra' a couple of years back. Check the date of manufacture panel on the side wall.

The trouble is that personal preference with tyres are like arseholes.
I like the Storm (Ultras) for it's good wet weather manners, durability, reasonable wear rate and grip, along with the price.
In addition, it's made in the UK, so keeping fellow Britons in a job.

It's probably not as good as, for example, a Diabalo or similar for it's out and out track day grip, so if this is how you get your kicks it might be worth choosing a more sport orientated boot.
Having said that, when the Storm came out, it was tested by some journo' on a tupperware torpedo round a track, who raved about it.

Well went ahead and fitted the tyre...Bloody brilliant the tread pattern seem to make it a lot better as there are no tread pattern worn edges to fall off of...potts
