Thanks i'll add to my pile of plastic in the morning if the bike hasnt melted overnite.
I've put a parafin fired sump heater under it. Funny how the spiders dont freeze solid though..

Well i had a look at the tie bar earth and it looked ok but tried it anyway. As i unwound the bolts masses of oxide corrosion came out with them so i cleaned the threads out and greased the bolts up. No more earth problem and the bike started ok with a jump start. I ran it till the engine cases where scorching. I would have ridden it but its a bit icey at the moment. Next up a new battery since its three years old and knackered.

Maybe not. I cleaned the plugs anyway just in case.
