Depends on what u want / need. Ie a single static page or a fully blown shop and payment cart etc. Also if you require graphics etc doing then add that in. I can do basic stuff and content management, but never dabbled in the arts of shopping carts etc.

Try

Robin who runs this has done several pieces of work for me. Leaflets, books, jumpers etc. He has also done several websites which include shopping carts etc. He is very reasonable on price to.

If it's simple and not too much into flashy graphics and stuff moving all around, you can register your own domain name (www . muzza .uk, or whatever) and hold that for small change per month on a good hosting company. I'm looking into Bluehost right now in the States - it's $6us per month for hosting your site with your domain.
You can use one of the web host's templates to fill in your content, or you can buy a special template from someone else. A lot of blogging-type web sites use Wordpress as a basis.

Is it for business, hobby, or art/creative stuff? If for business, then have a glance at this site to get some idea of how he uses WordPress to set up a site.

Or hire someone, but they probably won't show you how your site needs to work the way Maz does with a Buell.

It may be worth your while to do some online reading to understand the mechanics, whether you decide to get assistance or DIY.

If you sign up with a web site hosting company that offers dedicated domains, you will get your own dedicated domain name/address. It will then be up to you to create web pages, loaded with images, text, whatever. These, once you create them, you upload to your web site and designate one as your home page, etc etc. WordPress is just one fairly widely used free source tool that many use to be able to build their site quickly, and many web hosting companies offer quick download of WordPress so you can get right into it.
Many people are fine with this kind of web site, because it means they can set it up themselves, without having to write computer code to get themselves published online.

You would also set up your domain-specific email address, something like info @ yadayada . com. You can forward these messages to your personal email if you want them all in one place, or you can just set up your email reading/writing program with the new email account in addition to your personal.

As I say, best to do some research so you know if DIY is for you, or if you are better off getting some help - this will also depend largely on the purpose to which you put your site.

Sounds like peeps have offered you some good recommendations already for web site designers/builders.
One big issue for commercially geared sites is what's called SEO, or Search Engine Optimization. You want whoever you work with to set up your site to optimize its being "crawled" by the search engines like yahoo and google, so when someone searches for you, or someone like you, they find your site easily.

I work as a web designer in my spare time - http://portfolio.turner-designs.com

Gimme a shout if you're looking for something more complex, if it is just simple you are best doing it yourself with Wordpress or Blogger or something.

Albert..... I'll make you a sweet webpage in return for an XB Reverso for pre-08s!
