Forget the screen ....get some neck muscles instead ;) lOl seriously though did over 3000 miles in two weeks including one german motorway stretch of about 30 miles at over 100 mph...........you do get used to it ;)

Hi everyone, I'm new to group, I've got an 06 Uly that is more or less standard. I find the windblast a bit much at motorway speeds. I was wondering if the taller screen from the XT makes much of a difference. I love the clean look of the bike and I don't want to spoil it with a big hideous screen.
Thanks, McUly.

I had an Uly and I tried the standard screen and the Zero Gravity touring screen. I am 6'2" and I found the standard screen, although dishing out a bit of windblast, gave a "cleaner" ride while the Zero Gravity Touring screen gave more protection but gave a bit of buffeting and wind noise.

The best solution I found was the standard Uly screen fitted with a Laminar Lip, (bought from Hero Blobs http://shop.heroblobs.co.uk/pages/laminar-lip), it was excellent.

Thanks Longdog,
I prefer windblast to buffeting any day. Unfortunately there is no way of knowing without trying these things. I had two Kawasaki KZ1000sts, one with high bars and one with low bars. When I put a GPZ style fairing on the one with the high bars it was really comfortable but when I put it on the one with the low bars it was like
going into a blind corner 20mph too fast with the missus on the back, ie a lot of slapping and noise around the head. I couldn't believe how such a small change could make a difference. Being a short arse I can't really compare my setup with someone over 6 foot. Maybe all the Uly guys should get together some time to try all the different setups.
