They do break occasionally, and were originally guaranteed for life - allegedly!
You don't say whether you have a belt tensioner fitted? These are supposed to enhance the life of your belt, and reduce wear on your bearings.
Everybody always seems gobsmacked when one of these breaks, yet if a chain snaps or needs replacing, everbody takes it for granted? :?

Well, apparently belt's life was at it's end, so warranty ends also. :hehe:

I'D put a freespirits belt tensioner on and a output nipple mod done if you have not done so already ;)

My mate once bought a watch with a lifetime guarantee, when it packed up the mainspring flew out and slashed his wrist.....

I believe new belts are tight when they go on.
I've got a new one coming over from the states with my wife. I'm going to put it on and keep my original one (6000 miles) as a spare to take on long journeys - supposedly easier to put on 'in the field'.

Yes they are tight when you first fit them, do yourself a favour and fit a FreeSpirits tensioner if you don't already have one.

I wish that they would make one for the 1125s' - my belt went at under 8,000 miles and it was running very tight when first fitted ...
