Its been pissing it down all week here so my bike was locked away, opened the shed this afternoon and there's a small pool of oil underneath. Seems to be coming from the front of the engine right side! Any thoughts?

Not coming from some sort of breather hose is it .. ? Maybe the clutch cover is leaking, tis a known fault that should have a recall to fix it ..

Looking at it closely it seems to be a vertically split crankcase and could be a gasket leak its right over the top of the exhaust and obscured from view...somebody please tell me this isn't another 1125 ailment!

If possible a picture will help here, even from your phone.

It's the first time I've heard of an oil leak on the 1125 models.

Are you sure that it's oil ? Make sure that it's not coolant - some have commented on a leak from the witness hole in the water pump, that is behind the header pipe on the right hand side of the engine.

Still leaking and it seems the pipe isn't an oil breather. I know the clutch issues its for sure not that and definately oil. It must be coming from the gasket, I have realised that as the bike has not been rolling since I last wiped it clean.

Have a look chaps and be wary of this!

Hot country, ridden hard. Do they specify any different oil or larger oil cooler for your country?

This is a first occurance for this hot country and has happened during the cool period if temp was a factor I'm sure it would have occured earlier.

Judging by this forum it is also a first mention in UK also...keep your eyes open 1125 owners

Try nipping up the bolts, and have a good look for hairline fractures, I remember reading of a casing cracking on badweb !! Keep us updated on this please.

Is the oil level set correctly on the bike? It's critical to set vertical and level. Or has the bike found its own level now?

Adam I hear what you are saying about the oil level and its never been topped up since last change...which I did cos I wouldn't trust my local dealer.

Nipped the bolts up and monitoring it. I don't suppose the gasket is available from anyone on here is it?

Tubbs thankyou for the constructive aspects of your posting and all I can assume is it leaked on cooling down so all you winter buellers wrap up well! :sun:
