The main UKBEG 2011 events season opens with this informal Buell meet at the RAF Museum London, Hendon, on Sunday 20th March.

The meet starts at 11.00am and is open-ended, come and go as you please.

All makes are welcome - you don't have to arrive on a Buell.

Location details: RAF Museum London

From 1st April 2010, a parking charge has been payable by all visitors to the Royal Air Force Museum's London site. The income generated is used to assist in meeting the costs of maintaining the Museum's national collection and of operating its sites.

Parking fees are:
0-3 Hours - £2.50.
3-6 Hours - £3.50.

Our contact at the RAF Museum advises that we buy a parking ticket, write our registration number on it and hand the ticket to the person on the gate. We're sorry about this inconvenience and additional small expense but they won't grant us free parking. At least admission to the RAF Museum itself is still free.....

There will be an area of the car park reserved for our motorcycles.

UKBEG meets in the London area have always been well attended and during recent years only our main event in July, in Lincolnshire, attracts more Buells.

From last years event.....
There were 32 Buells in total, 11 off 1125's (a record) with CR's outnumbering the R's, 4 off tubers and 17 assorted XB's.

Yes, I'd say that calls for a big juicy Image

So do you wait at the gate hoping another bike will arrive then?

Madness.

Agreed, they do have an odd parking policy that isn't exactly bike-friendly but if you object to paying £2.50 (or £3.50) for entrance/admission per bike then don't come.

Or come in car - it works out far cheaper if you have 3 or more people in it.

Or we could go back to using Brooklands for a London area event - minimum charge is £9.00 per adult and we have reams of Health & Safety paperwork to fill in.

Or we could just organise events in our home county.....

Or we could just not bother.....

If £2.50 helps keep historic aircraft in prestine condition? Keeps the memories of the brave pilots that flew them alive? Then I have no problem at all with the price!
In some cases, you owe it to them!

My comment is nothing to do with the amount i don`t mind paying for parking plus entry ..just seems the principal isn`t right.

I know what it takes to organise events so your time and trouble to organise events is appreciated also.

Cyril, please accept my apologies, my reply was a bit terse. I lost a very good friend last week and her funeral was yesterday afternoon, I guess I wasn't in the best of moods this morning :oooops:..
