done, by the love of the god's I've made it :ill: I manage to make a freaking log file

sent you a mail gunter

for does ho need to log file by using windows vista you must disable the user account control on the windows control panel, freaking thing.

million thanks to Terrys on BadWeB :worthy:

now I'm just hoping to gunter to find something that can lead me to the problem

Got the file, looks much better now.

This is what MLV shows then:
http://www.ecmspy.com/download/gunter/i ... _error.png

Compare your file to this, shows how it should look like:
http://www.ecmspy.com/download/gunter/i ... t_okay.png

Let's start with the good news: engine and air temperature sensors seem okay, as the both signal a similar temperature (12-13 °C) at the beginning. O2 voltage is 0.49 volts, which means the wire is neighter grounded (would be 0.0 volts) nor broken (would be 0.50 volts). O2 voltage is moving after about 20 seconds, which seems okay also.

Now the bad news: the O2 sensor signal is not okay, but I can't tell why. In the middle window, just left of the cursor position you can see the white line showing O2 voltage, which is not moving very much (again compare that with the other screenshot). The ECM is adding fuel, because the O2 signals a lean mixture, this is shown in the bottom window, pink line. At some point the mixture is getting too rich and engine stalls. This is a bit right of cursor position. At cursor position you have 10% warmup enrichment and 40% ego correction, so about 45% more fuel than mapped for. That's quite a lot, even for a cold engine.

So it might be a broken O2 sensor indeed, but these look a bit different usually:
http://www.ecmspy.com/download/gunter/i ... faulty.png

All other intermittent O2 sensor problems I have seen always had the O2 voltage sticking at a higher voltage (> 0.6 volts), thus indicating a rich mixture and the engine stalled because mixture got too lean after a while. You could try to replace the O2 sensor, as the O2 signal is the reason for the stalling egine. If you have problems finding a one-wired sensor, these cars seem to have them installed:

Daewoo: Cielo Espero Lanos Leganza Nexia Nubira (part # 96335925, 25106073)
Hyundai: Accent Lantra (part # 39210 22018)
OPEL & Vauxhall: Agila Ascona C Astra F Combo Corsa A Kadett E Vectra A & B (part # 855333 / 25164596)
Suzuki: Swift Vitara (part # 18213 60B00, 18213 64B00)
Toyota: Lexcen
Bosch: 0 258 002 014

hi folks

2005 ully with about 40k miles.

engine v twin warning light stayed on coming back from brands hatch on sunday, bike missfired badly but limped on (it was pissing down - and didnt want to get stuck on m25 on sunday night with a sick buell)
I carried on trying to caox engine to fire and after some 10 miles in coughed splutterd and chimed in again on 2, and then ran very well in the wet , free revving etc.

connected ecm spy up tonight to check for trouble codes

what i found

byte 1:18
bit 3 trouble code 13:02 sensor always lean
bit 4 trouble code 13:02 sensor inactive or open

byte 2:80
bit 7 trouble code 15 intake air sensor shorted to supply voltage or open

as the bike is now running ok , should (i suppose its obvious from tc readings) I look to replace 02 sensor (with a buell one - although I am reading this thread and it seems that alternatives may? be better).

thanks
chris

I should check your wiring for chaffing

I think this error message is misleading, because byte 2, bit 7 should mean: temperature too high (not voltage too high) or short to ground (not supply voltage)

This makes more sense IMO, as two chafed, grounded wires seem more probable than one short to earth and another short to sensor supply.

If it was the rear pot that was misfiring due to the wet conditions (common) then the lambda sensor wouldn't be a happy chappy

What Maz is saying is that the Lamda sensor is being given wrong info about the fuelling BECAUSE the engine is misfiring due to damp getting into the HT leads. So check HT leads for any signs at all of chafing and if in any doubt replace them with new, ensuring that you get a water tight seal at the coil and spark plug ends of them ;)

Hi, I have a similar problem on an '05 12, open airbox, Remus can and standard maps.. I'vr read through this thread (and several related) but still haven't figured out what's causing the EGO sensor issues. The bike was running well until I cleeaned the bike, sprayed ACF50 on the electrical connectors and changed the plugs.

I've been back and checked the connections, that the cables aren't chaffing, that there's no apparent leaks on the intake but a week later it@ts still running rough. I've logged a couple of rides and the EGO starts off in the right region (between 4.5 and 5.0 voltts) but after a while it just drops below 3.0 volts and stays there.

Anyone got any tips (aside from 'leave it alone when it's running well)?
Can mail the logs to anyone who can interpret them.
Thanks

This does not make any sense to me.
Please post a link to your binary (.bin) log file.
