You are not wrong there mate. I have been working at the Defence Diving School for a number of years now and we send a constant stream of these young men off to Afghanistan and always fear for their safety. Our Boys don't always come back intact which is a sickener. One of our sargeants dropped in to the school on friday in his wheel chair, stepped on a land mine, lost both legs and all in between. He was accompanied by his beautiful fiancee who also deserves a medal. When people complain about the 'Youth of today' they obviously do not mean these young people. They've got lots of guts, respect to them :old:

We've received nothing yet. If they haven't arrived by 21-03-11 I will chase them up.

Taken from the organisers web site:

PLEASE NOTE: Wristbands and bike tags will be dispatched during the first and second weeks of March.

Im booked on with my Son on pillion - he saw last years ride through and couldnt wait to this years!

I'm booked on the 9 - 10 slot and got wrist bands etc last week - will be on black 1125R

Just so you know this is the last one - Lyneham closes later this year so no more repatriations through Wootton Bassett. I've lived in Bassett for the last 15 years and it's a lovely little town with a fantastic community spirit. It has been an honour to stand and pay respects.

Hope to see a few of you at Hullavington.

Mark

Hi Mark - our passes arrived yesterday, we're booked on the 10.00 to 11.00 slot.

I think we met you at last years run, we'll look out for you again :yup: ....

I would advise that you contact info@afganheroes.org.uk for clarification about extra peeps....

From last years event:

Image

You can just about spot a grey and a blue Guzzi parked next to each other, and Nutah's white Buell X1 about 6 bikes back :D...

I hope the weather's just as good for this years event.

A slight change of plan in that the Admiral Drake crowd have decided not to do the run but just go up to Wootton Bassett instead. I'm now meeting up with BlackRag at the Admiral Drake at 9:00 am with a couple of others to go and do the run.

Warning!

Wiltshire Constabulary has a new anti-motorcycle zealot.
http://i536.photobucket.com/albums/ff32 ... CF6179.jpg

With his officially calibrated B&Q tape measure, he cruises the highways of the county in his un-marked BMW saloon, looking for heritics with non-standard number plates.
His bat-like hearing is so acute, he can also detect naughty exhausts without the aid of a noise-o-meter.

He's bound to have got himself pencilled in for overtime this coming weekend.
