Had the bike in Hibernation over the chilly period. Got her out today after a few days on the Optimate. She started up lovely for such an extended lay up. Slipped into first gear and........

The belt snapped!!
Doh!

I'm tempted to say "ya wimps", but being as I haven't ridden in snow or ice for at least 5 years, I won't :P

yeah, but I reckon you've seen enough sand to give you a squeek when you walk Bonz lOl

The sand isn't a problem, it's the feckin heat :ill: It's actually easier to ride through a UK winter than a Qatar summer, apart from the falling off aspect :P

No mate ;) And Ive just shelled out on the H.E.S.T/F a Benchmade 755MPR, and a Spyderco Bob Terzuola, so funds for a new belt are a little tight. Oh well Ill just bang it on the CC and pay next month.

What is hard to believe is that there are only 3 X1/Sportster drive belts in the whole of the UK Harley spares network. Nearest one to Lincolnshire is at Riders!!

Dont know about that. The chap at Robin Hood didnt have any in stock, (neither did Chesterfield, Lincoln or Uppingham) He got on the computer and sourced one from Riders, which is at present travellng up the M5 on a three legged Donkey and should arrive next week sometime.
(The other two belts were in Scotland somewhere.)
