You know it makes sense Kev. Muffin likes being parked up next to some foreign Totty on a Saturday night. ;)

Well that's just done an 122 mile rip with no stops at all and the bike felt to be running perfectly ....................BUT lOl called in for a cuppa at Willingham and on restarting to come home noticed the CEL started to flash within a few seconds of setting off .........bike still ran perfectly for the 14 miles home but the light kept flashing nearly all the way home.
Plugged ecm spy back in to read codes and it gave two historic codes of number 11 and number 33
TPS short to ground and fuel pump short to ground or open.......very strange as the bike was running faultlessly.
The flashing CEL looked as if it could have been giving the fault codes like it does when you link with a piece of wire but not easy counting the flashes at 80mph lOl

as they are shown as historic , rather than current clear them
then go for another 120 miles to see if they return lOl

or just "go ride the motorcycle" .....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RW8tAKG4rr0

That could be caused by a short to ground of the serial data transmit wire then. Would fit the other trouble codes also. Seems to me as if you have more than one short in your cable harness ...

Before I delve to deep for that I'll just check my ecm spy lead hasn't got damaged or trapped by the seat as a short in that would give the same result. Tis the first time the CEL has come on so seems strange it's done it as soon as I've cured the running problem lOl
The lead was still connected but not logging at the time the light came on as it'd gone offline when I stopped for a coffee and because i'd completed 122 trouble free miles I'd not turned the netbook back on.

Well thats Muffin treated to some more tyres ...new front pads and wheel bearings and an oil and filter change so off to try for another 120+ mile ride now to see if he's behaving enough to go to Lauwe next week lOl
If anybody fancies a coffee at Willingham later I'll see you there ;)

:D :D :D 8-) another 130 trouble free miles tonight 8-) Muffins looking good for Lauwe next week 8-)
The flashing of the fault codes seems to be related to not shutting down the netbook and leaving it connected as it did exactly the same again tonight as soon as i turned the ignition back on after it'd been sat for about 45mins. unplug the ecm spy lead and toggled ign and the light went back off :?
The bike was flying tonight though 8-)
