My bikes been at riders HD in bristol since january waiting for parts - does that seem too long?

I lost 3rd gear (not sure where it went :stage: ) on my 10 plate xb12s and havent seen it for almost 6 months- first they said rebuild, then a new box, now apparantly waiting for a selector fork...

Is there anything i can do ie. Complain to cust care and get them to buy the bike from me??

A friend had a similar thing with a car he had spent 9 months in the dealer with a known problem common to that car. he complained and managed to get the dealer to re-pay him his years car tax and his year insurance.
he couldnt use his car because of them so they coughed up after one phone call.
Just an idea you could try.

Parts are readily available.......my guess is that they fucked up when rebuilding (easily done if you aint familiar with the XB) had to strip it again and re-order parts.

That is shocking service to be honest, I'm surprised you didn't park it up and demand your money back ...

pop in with a crow bar or nice length of scaffold, demand they get on with the job and tell the truth about whats happening....

worked for my uncle with a pos bike he bought a few years back, initial response was, thats not under warranty, pay us to fix it or f*** off, he went back with his 'solicitor' and it was sorted by the end of the week, under warranty....
:D

their parts desk is good, service desk are complete c*nts.

.......In which case the LH crankcase is probably scrap ie. cracked around the mainshaft bearing bore.......I would insist on a full refund of the purchase price of the bike as it's not fit for purpose (and neither is the dealers workshop)

Wasn't that what happened to Trojans first XB race engine and the reason they upgraded to the 12 that Erik supplied?
