I ordered a RHS scoop (inner and outer parts) from the Rider comfort kit.

The outer scoop part number should be M0851.2AU (the number on the box and receipt is correct), but the number on the actual part is M0851.7AA - Buell must have packed the wrong part in the wrong box.

The dealer is looking into it, but any idea what bike this is meant for?

It's got a weird chunk taken out of the side?

That not the inner scoop?

The 'inner' piece is totally different - in your picture it's what's attached to the silver tube frame and forms the inner 'half' of the scoop's opening - up close, my piece looks like it's exactly the right piece (the outside surface moulding looks right), just got a funny shape cut out

That looks like the one intended for the Police version - the missing section is where they mount a siren I think.

Just checking my paperwork here it seems to indicate that the non-cat X/XT outer should be M0851.7AA and the non-cat XP outer should be M0851.2AU.

I have a normal looking one on my both my X & XT so I'll just nip out and see what is physically marked on one.

My non-cat R/H scoop (without the chunk missing) is marked as M0851.7AA. Perhaps they just took M0851.7AA's and carved a bit out and packaged them as M0851.2AU's?

Yeah it's for the XP - the Police variant mounts a siren in that area

It was confusing as the 'cut-out' scoop I received has the proper number stamped inside it (M0851.7AA) but was packaged as a M0851.2AU - I guess they're all made as 7AA's then cut out to be sold as .2AU's for the XP.

Anyhoo, I got the right one now
